We created a SQL AAG and added replica servers on named SQL instances. At the time of creation we had the SQL Browser configured. When we added the replica servers, we did not specify the port for the named instance. Subsequently we have locked down our servers by disabling the Browser and blocking UDP 1434. Now when we use the failover wizard we cannot connect to the secondary replica because you cannot change the server instance name. Is there a way to update the server name to add the port for the named instance so we can use the Wizard?Obviously, we can script the failover, however we would like to be able to use the SSMS wizard.Has anyone faced, and resolved, this challenge?
