All:I have been asked to upgrade an existing SQL 2012 instance to SQL 2014.This can be a simple operation of an in-place upgrade (after making sure we have good backups of everything), or a complex operation of clean install of a new instance, then migrating everything over (in this case large databases).Our sense is that clean installs are preferred and upgrades are to be avoided, but this may be based on bad experiences people had 15 years ago with old versions of SQL.Based on real-world experience, are 2012 to 2014 upgrades known to be problematic?
