Greetings everyone. I'm currently planning out a new installation for SQL Server 2014 Standard edition.I have a question on the drive array setup.I am planning for:o System Files – 100 GB – C:o Application Files - ?? GB – D: (what is the drawback of putting this on C?)o Database Data Files– 150 GB – G:o Database Log Files (including TempDB) – 62 GB - L:o TempDB data files – 60 GB – T:o Backup Files - 100 GB – H:The basic array recommendations come from a Brent Ozar installation guide. my Big question mark is the D Drive in this template. I would normallly install the SQL application files on the C Drive. Does anyone have any information on what advantages there are to installing the application files on their own array? And... any drive space recommendations for the application files themselves? I'm only installing the engine, NOT reporting, analysis or integration servers. Thanks for any insight you can add here.
